چکیده

Background Metabolic programming of glucose homeostasis in the first 1,000 days life may impact lifelong metabolic and cardiovascular health. Continuous monitoring (CGM) devices help measure dietary intake on rhythms metabolism infants during complementary feeding period. Objectives Demonstrate feasibility CGM to quantify variability response infant evaluate associations between macronutrient meal composition variability. Methods The “FreeStyle Libre Pro ® ” device interstitial meter was applied anterior thigh 10 healthy 6–12-month-old infants. Parents recorded food intake, time feeding, used daily dairies record sleep duration. Descriptive statistics were employed for key glycemic parameters over three full days. Mixed linear models assess changes. Results Mid-day, afternoon, evening feeds contained >30 g carbohydrate induced higher 2-h iAUC (3.42, 3.41, 3.50 mmol/L*h respectively) compared early mid-morning feedings with ≤25 carbohydrates (iAUC 2.72 2.81 mmol/L*h, p < 0.05). Early morning milk approximately 9 fat a longer reach maximal value (Tmax; 75 68 min, lower (2.9–5.9 g; Tmax range: 34–60 min; Incremental at (C0) increased significantly from 0.24 ± 0.39 mM 1.07 0.57 ( Over day, 70% values remained within normal range (3.5–5.5 mmol/L), 10% 5.5–10 mmol/L, 20% 3.5 mmol/L. Conclusion Our data support using observation possible diurnal typical have implications future studies investigating adaptation nutritional life.

Object permanence in five-month-old infants.

A new method was devised to test object permanence in young infants. Fivemonth-old infants were habituated to a screen that moved back and forth through a 180-degree arc, in the manner of a drawbridge. After infants reached habituation, a box was centered behind the screen. Infants were shown two test events: a possible event and an impossible event. In the possible event, the screen stopped wh...

Probability-matching in 10-month-old infants

Evidence from the probability learning literature indicates that when presented with simple situations that require making predictions, adults tend to probability match whereas children are likely to show maximization (Stevenson & Weir, 1959; Weir, 1964). The reason for this developmental difference is not fully understood, but one possibility investigated here is that children have fewer resou...

Object segregation in 8-month-old infants.

Two experiments examined 8-month-old infants' use of configural and physical knowledge in segregating three-dimensional adjacent displays. The infants in Experiment I saw two identical yellow octagons standing side by side: in the test events, a hand grasped the right octagon and pulled it to the side. The infants looked reliably longer when the octagons moved apart than when they moved togethe...

Rational Imitation in 12-Month-Old Infants

Gergely, Bekkering, and Király (2002) demonstrated that 14-month-old infants engage in “rational imitation.” To investigate the development and flexibility of this skill, we tested 12-month-olds on a different but analogous task. Infants watched as an adult made a toy animal use a particular action to get to an endpoint. In 1 condition there was a barrier that prevented a more straightforward a...

Psychological Reasoning in 5-Month-Old Infants

Some researchers have suggested that infants’ ability to reason about goals develops as a result of their experiences with human agents and is then gradually extended to other agents. Other researchers have proposed that goal attribution is rooted in a specialized system of reasoning that is activated whenever infants encounter entities with appropriate features (e.g., self-propulsion). The fir...
